MEMORABLE SANDWICHES THRU SPACE AND TIME
Fried Fish on white bread with tartar sauce. 45 minute line and worth it. Louisville, Kentucky. Fish shack near Lisa’s Oak Street Lounge.
Cuban flatbread sandwich, ham, cheese, dijon mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato. Tampa, Florida. Small sandwich stand in a cavernous old mall half-filled with flea market.
Datwich. Bloomington, Indiana. Dat's. They have one sandwich. This is it.
Depth charge pizza sandwich. Hagerstown, Indiana. Dale’s Pizza.
Mission dog. The first one left me shuddering in rapture. Follow-up attempts have come up short, but I know what I felt that day.
Open-faced egg sandwich on toasted english muffin w/ horseradish and parmesan. Glass of milk. San Francisco, CA. White breakfast.
Soprasetta, fresh motzarella, lettuce, tomato, dijon mustard on a dutch crunch roll. San Francisco, California. Molinaris. 100 year old Italian deli. Columbus & Vallejo.
